Mining
Mining is an easy business. Once you get your skill and pick just keep the "Find Minerals" skill up and hit them whenever you can. I spent a couple hours just running back and forth and picked up enough minerals and stone (and a few shadow gems, malachite and tiger's eyes) to raise both mining and engineering to around 75. I am sure it will get harder as most skills do. I will attempt to post what I find and where I find it.
I find the most difficult part to get past is the iron-gold levels. This is midrange and there seems to be a shortage in veins in all areas.
Here are some good locations that I have found for mining...

- Tin - Darkshore, random - Westfall, Jangalode mine, random

- Malachite - Elwynn Forest, North of Westbrook Garrison
- Tigerseye - Elwynn Forest, North of Westbrook Garrison

- Iron - Southshore, Caves in Redridge mountains
- Gold - Stranglethron Vale (east of Kurzen's compound and on east mountains), Arathis Highlands and throughout the Badlands
- Silver - Arathi Highlands, Thousand Needles, and the Barrens (around the edges of Shimmering Flats is easy)

Lucky Fishing Hat

I finally got a fishing hat. It isn't the Weather Beaten Hat from the Fishing Daily quest like I have been wanting but it's a start. I'm starting to think I'll never get anything from the daily fishing quest. Everything that I want (the hat or any of the 4 pets) have managed to elude me. I would be willing to bet I've done that quest over a hundred times too.
I managed to get 34/40 at this weeks contest. It's the sole achievement keeping me from my "Salty" title now. I can't help but wonder how many people have won that contest with no plan whatsoever of getting the title. I just wish Blizzard would wise up and remove that requirement. Only having a maximum of 52 people a year with that title just seems extreme. I can't even imagine being on a different time zone from your server. I heard some Aussies have to do the contest on Monday morning.
Warcraft Puzzles
Here are a few things about World of Warcraft that have been puzzling me.
- Why can I ride my Elekk through a giant bush or the limb of a huge tree but a bamboo tiki torch stops me dead in my tracks?
- Why can I fly all the way across Outland for 10s but flying half way across Northrend costs almost 2g?
- Why are some keys destroyed when you use them but some remain on your keyring forever?

Daily Quest Route
I have started to realize how beneficial daily quests can be to the casual player. In just a few short minutes I can knock out the cooking and fishing daily quests and earn some good experience and gold. I am going to add the daily quest Break the Blockade to the mix since that is where I am currently leveling. Since I did the daily quests for Kalu'ak reputation, I know those quests as well.
This makes me wonder. Is there a decent route to take via flight paths that would allow me to level via daily quests? At 15k experience each it is almost better than following Jame's guides. Certainly not as exciting but maybe quicker.
I hope to make a route around Northrend making this possible. It would require very little thought and be possible to do in small steps with relative safety (doable from a place of employment, ssshhhh). With 25 quests available every day, you could rack up considerable experience and gold with hardly any effort at all.
This link at Wowwiki should help considerably with that guide.
